We would like to introduce our guests to our programs for Church and youth groups. These programs include kayaking and rafting surrounded by some of God’s most beautiful creations: California’s wild canyons and rivers. WWE’s luxury riverside camp on the South Fork of the American River is the ideal setting in which to hold Church group fellowships, relax and have fun in such a stunning natural environment. As this bright new chapter in the life and development of Whitewater Excitement unfolds, I want to take this chance to give thanks to the Lord and to all who have been instrumental to our success – our guests and our employees. It’s been nothing less than a pleasure to see those same smiling faces each year out to capture God’s grace and power in a single experience with us. From the moment we called the office and talked to Debbe on the phone to staff on the river we had an excellent time with you. Our youth group of junior high first time rafters and your staff made us feel safe and comfortable. Our expectations of rough camping were exceeded by your well kept facilities and clean environment. All of our prices for Church Adventure trips are reduced rates from our standard retail prices. Our California youth rafting trips are 20-30% lower than our retail price. Our Youth program has been designed to make our adventures affordable and to give them the opportunity to explore our natural world.

Spring Trip: Second Monday in May

The WWE tradition of offering a free California river rafting trip to Youth Directors will continue this year. This trip will give you directors a first hand experience of a WWE river adventure. While with us you will visit our riverside campsite, and more importantly give you the opportunity to meet us and get to know one another. If you are considering a whitewater group rafting trip with us, the Youth Directors trip will give you the knowledge and to take back to your church and group.

**PLEASE NOTE: We ask that only those who have not taken a trip with WWE take part in one our of our Director’s Trips to sign up due to space limitations. Due to limited space we are asking for a $20 per person refundable deposit. This deposit will be refunded upon arrival, unless you fail to show up for the trip without notice. Limit: 2 per group.

I began Whitewater Excitement, Inc 28 years ago with little more purpose than to have a great time while making some money. However, in 1985 I became a Christian, and soon realized that with the Lord I had much more to offer than fun and money. Soon after, in 1986, I began the Church Rafting Adventure program. Since its inception our outreach program has grown into more than just California rafting. We have expanded our camp areas and now offer week long Adventure Camps, rafting, and inflatable kayaking trips in some of the State's most breathtaking and scenic areas.

Chili Bar to Folsom Lake
From April to September
Difficulty: Class III

Join us for an exhilarating white water river rafting adventure on the one of California premier rivers. This 21 mile stretch of river has more than 50 rapids, and is perfect for both first timers and veteran rafters. We offer two 1- day trips, the 11 mile 5 hour “GORGE” trip, and our “ WHOLE RIVER” trip that takes in the entire 21 miles of the South Fork. Both trips include lunch. If you're looking for a longer trip that includes camping along the river, our “TWO DAY” trips might be just what you're looking for.

On the first day of the two day trip we raft the “GORGE” section, and tackle the “CHILI BAR” section on day two. Our river side camp is by far one of the finest private camp facilities on the river. It is fully equipped with new bathroom facilities (hot showers, flush toilets, mirrors and sinks,) horseshoes, basketball and volleyball. The South Fork of the American is great for groups ranging from Middle School all the way up to church Senior's.

California whitewater rafting - FUN FOR ALL

Oxbow Dam to Greenwood
From May to September
Difficulty: Class III-IV

For those of you slightly more on the adventurous side, the Middle Fork of the American is a step up in difficulty from the South Fork. In just the first few miles of this trip, you’ll be met with the “Tunnel Chute”. Blasted out by Miners in the 1800’s, the river bottlenecks into a 12 foot chute that stretches out for 100 feet, coming to a splash at the bottom. Finally you find yourself floating though a raftable tunnel. You won’t find another rapid like this anywhere else!

The Middle Fork of the American is suitable for ages 14 years and older who are fair to good swimmers, in good physical shape and slightly on the adventurous side. This is not a trip the timid! (We also offer a somewhat gentler Middle Fork American trip, described in the table below.

Our one day rafting trip covers 18 miles and necessitates an early morning meeting time at 7am. This trip includes lunch and has camping available the night before for $10/person per night.

Middle / South 2 Day Combo - California White Water Rafting Trip

Enjoy with us 2 amazing days the California summer has to offer. Your first day will be spent rafting the South Fork “Gorge Run. Day two will challenge you with the Class IV rapids of the Middle Fork. This trip includes rapids the likes of, “Kanaka Falls”, “Tunnel Chute”, , “Chunder”, and the Class VI unrunnable “Ruck-a- Chuky Falls ” (the guides will line the rafts over this 25' waterfall while our guests walk around). This rafting trip includes 2 nights camping, 5 meals, and 2 days rafting.

Red Bud to McCabe–California River Rafting Paradise
From April to July
Difficulty: Class IV(+)

This snow fed river is intense and swift and offers up with some huge water rapids. Just on the outskirts of Yosemite National Park, the Merced roars during the high water Spring season. Rapids come almost one after another and require non - stop paddling from experienced crews or very adventurous first timers.

During the Summer season, as the snow melt diminishes and the water level stabilizes, the Merced lets up slightly and becomes a fantastic rafting trip for Junior and Senior High youth Groups. Min age 14.

One day trips along the Merced move for 18 miles and include lunch. Our two day Merced trips are 36 miles and include 2 night camping, 2 days rafting, and 4 meals. Make this your group adventure!

WWE offers Inflatable Kayak trips along the lower Middle Fork, and the South fork. These are exciting Class II rapids through breathtaking scenic canyons on these California river rafting trips.

Beginning after the Class 4 section of the North Fork, this adventure offers you all the splendor of the North Fork canyon in addition to the exciting pool drops that this river is so well known for. This trip spans 11 miles and moves from Yankee Jim’s Bridge to Lake Clementine. Groups will stop and hike “Cod Fish Creek” to an outstanding waterfall, and dine riverside on our buffet lunch. Paddle jackets and wetsuits are provided.

Participants must be strong swimmers, in good physical condition, and over 12 years of age.

Have a friend that you think would make a great WWE Guide? We offer a Spring and Summer whitewater rafting schools. We at WWE are always on the look out for great guides with people skills, and who are able to handle and thrive on the physically demanding work. The course covers learning how to ‘read’ the river, equipment preparation, and outdoor camp living and cooking. The Guide School dates are as follows:

Spring Guide School  May 28 - June 2
Summer Guide School Third Monday in June.

This year WWE are again offering our South and Middle Fork Spring Break Special.. When you raft either of these rivers and stay at our river base camp, you can enjoy lunch and half-price camping the night prior to all one day trips, 5 meals and 2 nights stay on our two day trips, and 8 meals and 3 nights camping on our three day trips. Splash jackets and wet suits are included at no cost in our Spring Break Special.

Reservations: Call early to hold your spot!! The first step in organizing your California rafting adventure is deciding on the dates that work for your group. Call our office, or go to our Make a Reservation page and see what dates are still available. Then call us to let us know which California river rafting trip you are interested in and how many people are in your group. We will invoice you and send as well a trip information sheet. In order for your group to hold your space, you will have 10 days to pay 50% of your total trip price. Upon WWE’s receipt of your groups deposit, we will then send you a confirmation package. The remainder of your groups payment is due 30 days before your trip. Last minute reservations are welcome and trips can be limited, please call for current availability.

Group Discounts: We also offer discounts for groups of 12 people or more. You receive one free spot with each group of 12,(11 pay and 1 goes free).

Group Leader Planning Kit: This is a special package designed for larger groups and is available upon request. It will help you to plan and promote your river adventure with us. Please contact us if you would like one of these kits.

Cancellations / Refunds: Cancellations made prior to 45 days will receive a full refund. However, cancellations in writing received by our office less than that time, will receive refunds less a fee of $50 per person, or %50 of entire trip cost (which ever is less). Making a reservation for a California river rafting trip is an important commitment, for the both of us. While we are holding your space we are turning away other groups who may be looking for the same dates, and if you cancel right before the trip, we cannot re-book.

Responsibility / Trip Insurance: Whitewater rafting, like any adventure activity involving the forces of nature, does involve some risk. California River Rafting Excitement, Inc. therefore assumes no responsibility for the personal injury of trip members, the loss or destruction of personal gear, or for any related time and expenses incurred. We, therefore, require that each member sign an ASSUMPTION OF RISK AND RELEASE FORM, prior to the trip.Minors who are under age 18, must have a parent must sign the form prior to the trip.
